This embodied practice is rooted in the Nahuatlaka teachings of the Cenzontimantli (rebozo) as a healing modality that weaves our hearts so that we show up for ourselves and each other. Despite the violence that continues to happen toward our community, we will focus on our brilliant LIGHT! Together we will explore writing prompts and create a colorful candleholder to represent YOU! All artists are welcome regardless of skill level. Materials will be provided.

In this 90 minute session we will:

•Gather and ground ourselves in gratitude (through breathwork and appreciation exercise)

All That Lies In Gray will be hosting the Stand Out Alliance’s Literary Journal Cover Collaboration! Students and alumni of the University of the Incarnate Word are invited to collaboratively create the cover art for Stand Out Alliance’s first literary journal, “One In The Same.” SOA was founded in the 90’s by Anel I. Flores and we are so grateful that she will be joining for the cover collaboration! Stop by the workshop space, October 21 from 10am to 11:30am, to leave your creative imprint on the first cover, too!

Expressing Feelings Through Art

Join Eve for a trauma-informed creative experience to connect with feelings and express them through art. Eve will gently guide you to use color, texture and shape to express yourself abstractly. This workshop is open to participants 14 years of age or older and no art experience is necessary. All art materials will be provided!

Participants will be guided to:

-Experience a creative color meditation to start

-Use colors and textures to identify and label feelings

-Integrate their creative experience through reflection and journaling

Though the experience will be gently guided, participants are free to make this practice their own and engage in a way that feels most authentic to them.

Join Nelson Hernandez in the workshop, Navigating Conflict in Relationships, to highlight the unique qualities that make your relationship worth working on. This workshop is open to any relationship in which conflict exists such as intimate partner(s), close friends, and family. To get the most out of this workshop experience, it is highly encouraged that you bring the person you would like to navigate these experiences with. This will be a space to explore common stuck points that folx experience when attempting to problem solve and find solutions. These experiences can include difficulties with setting boundaries, avoiding important and difficult conversations, resentment that may occur due to continued arguments, and more. The goal is that you leave this workshop with new ideas and creative problem-solving tools!
