Collective Care Fest ‘24 will take place on Saturday, August 3, from 1pm-10pm at Brick at Blue Star! Collective Care Fest is curated by All That Lies In Gray and is dedicated to empowering community. This all ages festival will be filled with creatives, zines, DJs, live music, poetry, storytelling, mental health and liberation workshops, a community mural, harm reduction resources, and a repro market promoting reproductive justice.
Explore the market of creations from 25+ community members. Engage in 4 empowering workshops and discussions led by community members. Enjoy the tunes played by DJ Heavyflow and DJ Despeinada. Contribute to the creation of a community mural, facilitated by local artist Suzy Gonzalez. Listen to poetry and music from Coffee In Color. Enjoy live music from El Robotico of Bombasta, EBO, Amalia Ortiz y Las Hijas de la Madre, and Roshii!
Collective Care Fest is more than just a gathering; it's an embodiment of radical community, mutual aid, and care. Our mission is to cultivate a space where collective care is the foundation for collective liberation and where an interconnected community can thrive on mutual aid, creativity, and transformative justice. By celebrating the ways our community keeps us safe and challenging the oppressive systems that fail to do so, we aim to empower the collective with the skills and knowledge to actively participate in their own liberation and the liberation of their neighbors.

This dynamic all ages festival was born to honor the rich tapestry of lived experiences and will be filled with creatives, zines, live music, poetry, storytelling, workshops, a community mural, harm reduction resources, STI/HIV testing, and a repro market promoting reproductive justice.

Explore the market of creations from 35+ community members as they share their unique desserts, art, crafts, zines, and goods, providing an opportunity to support local creatives.
Engage in empowering workshops and discussions led by community members, where you can delve into the depths of intersectionality and thought-provoking discussions.
Access harm reduction information, resources, and guidance for creating safer spaces. Additionally, visit the repro market, a space committed to reproductive justice, offering resources, information, and support.
Contribute to the creation of a community mural, facilitated by local artist Cassidy Fritts, where festival-goers come together to leave an indelible mark of unity and shared experiences, reflecting the power of collaboration and artistic expression.
Listen to poetry readings from Write Art Out Inc Poets: Ale Saenz, Lace Garcia, Yesenia De La Torre, and Cuppycake. Poetry segment will be hosted by Christopher “Rooster” Martinez. Let the words resonate within you, sparking contemplation and deepening your connection to the beauty of language and human experiences. You will also have the have the opportunity to participate in Open Mic Poetry and share your own poetry with the audience.
Enjoy live music from Fea, Hacienda, Powdered Wig Machine, and Polly Anna as we celebrate the profound impact music can have on the well-being of community, allowing people to express, heal, and find solace through creative expression. Attendees can also simply let loose, have fun, and immerse themselves in the joyous experience of jammin’ to captivating tunes.

All That Lies In Gray and That Gray Zine Present Collective Care Fest
Collective Care Fest took place at Paper Tiger on Sunday, August 28th from 12pm-8pm. Collective care is fundamental to social justice as it creates a space to share, honor, and care for the intersectionalities of lived experiences. This fest was curated to amplify community care and honor community voices, support, teachings, and creativity. There was live music, drag shows, a DJ, zines, vendors, poets, harm reduction resources, and mental health workshops! It takes community to heal community and to move towards collective liberation!
